you can do both at same time, kaplan for focused topics, uw on mixed random timed mode

thanks. assuming i want to do one q bank first and then the other, why is it that most recommend uw second.... kaplan has more details. isnt it better to do them after the big picture?

also, usmle step123 is by goljan... anyone has experience? same goes for usmle easy. there seems to be one more player on the market,... usmle quickprep, but the free questions seem to be somewhat easy. i got 70% correct without studying.... makes no sense to me.

more opinions?

i never got around into using kaplan, i used usmlerx first then uw two months before my exam, most recommend uw second because its more integrative and highest yield so you want that to be the last you see right before the exam.
i have no experience with the other qbanks but doing questions never hurt, depending on your time frame you you can do another bank in addition to kaplan and uw

you know what id do if i had a million dollars? two qbanks at the same time

actually, here's my suggestion?

1. uworld
2. kaplan
3. back to uworld

UsmleRX during school, then Uworld.

RX's explanations are a bit nauseating sometimes with their comma delimited lists of symptoms. For example, "Neurofibromatosis type 1 presents with cafe-au-lait spots, iris harmatomas, pheochromocytoma,..."

But I would take their explanations over Kaplan anyday. Kaplan's explanations are too brief. RX reviews the associated disease with each answer choice and presents the relevant page in First Aid. If you read the entire FA page after each question and you will have read FA many times over.
