Ok guys. I am going through UW pathology. will be posting some of its key concepts in a concise way.
1. PCOS patients are at increased risk of endometrial adenocarcinoma because of unopposed estrogen. the LH:FSH ratio in PCOS is typically greater than 3 with increased production of androgens leading to hirsuitisim.

remember triad of Obesity + hirsuitisim + oligomeorhia

2. the most susceptible area of brain for hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy that is global cerebral ischemia are the pyramidal neurons of hippocampus and neocortex and purkinje cells of cerebellum.
5 mins is the max time a neuron structure can withstand ischemia / hypoxia

3. association of renal papillary necrosis.

a. sickle cell disease / trait.
b. analgesic nephropathy
c. diabetes mellitus
d. acute pyelonephritis & urinary tract obstruction

There was actually a NBME question similar to this, however, it didn't mention PCOS. Rather, any increase (exogenous or endogenous) of estrogen that results in ENDOMETRIAL HYPERPLASIA (or just in general) will increase the risk of Endometrial Adenocarcinoma.
