UW has two rural clinician tracks in Spokane, Wash and Boise, Idaho. Your first two years are in Seattle, and the last two years are in the rural sites. (Calling them 'rural' is probably an overstatement. Spokane and Boise are real cities!) Although the formative years of mostly inpatient training are equivalent to the regular track, the rural tracks are less competitive because few people want to go to Spokane or Boise. In years past, the rural tracks have often not filled completely through the Match and the program has had to scramble to fill the spots.
