So, I've been using UW since the beginning of MS2 (did 1st year blocks during 1st semester) and 2nd year blocks during 2nd semseter/ Random, tutor. I did it mainly to learn and eventually ended up with a 51% first pass. Now I am currently doing Rx, 1500qs in and 65% correct. However I'm getting discouraged with my progress because I keep reading Rx is too easy. I took a school CBSE In feb and scored 193... I've yet to reach my dedicated study time (8weeks).

I keep seeing people getting ~70%+ UW first passes

Is there any low % success stories here? Anyone else feel the same?

Am I screwed? Share your experiences!

If you're on SDN you should be getting at least 85% pass. And if you're not at least at 70% on UW, then you won't need to choose a specialty because you won't have a choice based on your USMLE score 😡

But in all seriousness, you have 8 weeks. That is plenty of time. Take a look at your NBME, look at your weaknesses, and study the hell out of those chapters. In all likelihood, you're getting those questions wrong in those units because either there's a lack of understanding of basic concepts or you're just unfamiliar with the material of those units. Those NBME things really helped me focus my studying (not to say that I haven't also been going over the other units too). Don't worry about UW, it's more of a learning tool. The only reason I remember some concepts and random facts is because I got them wrong.

Keep going and you may get that 240 after all 🙂

I don't have any inspiring stories, but I would say don't get too down on yourself. You're certainly not screwed, you have a ton of time left. 8 weeks is also an eternity of dedicated prep time, so you really have no reason to be super worried at this point.

Try not to let this forum get you down; use it as a resource when you need guidance on study approaches or advice, not as a measuring stick for your own performance or knowledge. I'm in dedicated time and am exactly where I want to be on practice tests and still I often feel dumb when I read these forums (what can I say, I'm a glutton for punishment).

Thanks for the replies and encouragement! I will keep working hard to hit that score~ If anyone else wants to share their experience feel more than welcome to.

I'm in the same boat as you and starting to panic. I switched from Rx to Uworld a few weeks ago...so I didn't finish Rx but my % with like 400 questions done was a 40% :S
I have 6 weeks left until the test and I'm in full panic mode. My Uworld score is at a 40% right now too...ugh.

Thanks for sharing, I think we have plenty of time to up our score like above posters said, let's focus on weaknesses and try to do multiple passes on the FA, I think I will try an NBME to see where I am sitting once I hit dedicated time. Remember that UWorld is more of a learning tool than an evaluation (a lot of people use it for eval). We can do it!!!!

P.S there has to be someone currently reading this thread that was in the same boat as us and managed to kill the step, share your story! up the morale!
