So I just got a Supplemental App Email from UW yesterday. Is this something sent out to everyone? It seems awful late to be just sending out a supplmental app. I am from the northwest and wouldn't mind being at UW, but was wondering if this was them showing more interest in me or just standard? FWIW, I've already been accepted to another school.

I got one yesterday, too. I think they have an initial screen, then send out the secondary around 10 days after the deadline of their entire application cycle for out of state applicants.

Let's see... My primary went out in...July I think. It's way too long time ago. I believe UW only consider OOS after their AADSAS deadline.

I'm OOS and was accepted to UW on Dec. 1st, but I'm also a WICHE student so that might come into play as well. Just heads up I applied late June and got the supplemental in August, interviewed in October. I loved the school and if you are seriously considering the school I would fill out the supplemental! Good luck! Hope to see you next year!

UW takes their time filling up the class...so if you are interested in the school and they like you they will have spots... The fee is only $35 right?

WICHE might makes a little difference. I love UW.

Yes, only $35. I have a friend who's in ur class right now and I miss her so much.

well get that supp in ASAP!!! lol, yeah everyone in my class is pretty awesome. UW does a great job of getting compatible people.

This is completely true, at least based on what their deans/associate deans said, and that they'd be seriously interviewing at least through February, possibly later. Definitely worth filling out that secondary if you're interested.

I'm OOS/WICHE and interviewed on the 5th of December; however there was also some guy there from Nebraska, which is not WICHE. (The entire make up of 11 interviewers on the 5th was: 1 Alaska, 1 Hawaii, 1 Nebraska, and 8 WA).

Thanks for this post coma. I got the 2ndary as well.

Do any of you know how many students from each class do the RIDE program in Spokane?
Anyone hear any stories of its ups or downs?

Thanks!

There are 8 students per year in the RIDE program, they do their first year in Spokane but have some lectures where they "sit in" and watch the lecture in Seattle, almost like a webchat. After D1 they come to Seattle and finish the rest of the program out there. I've heard its GREAT if you want to be a rural practitioner - they get a ton of experience from day 1. Definitely let Kathy know if you're interested in the RIDE program, I'm not sure if they've already started filling up those 8 spots or not.

Good luck!

You might find this blog interesting, it's a guy who got in 2009 and is still writing about his RIDE experience:

They haven't filled all the spots (unless they some how did within the last week).
