Open houses are typically geared for the public. Accepted student days are different.

No they send a letter via uspsDon't they make phone calls?
Thanks. I know they made phone calls to OOS last year. That's why I was confused. No they send a letter via usps
I've been out a few years, but at the time I was accepted, most (but not all) of the OOS students got phone calls. The IS students got snail mail. So depending on where you're applying from, you may or may not get a call if you're accepted.Thanks. I know they made phone calls to OOS last year. That's why I was confused.
Are you IS or OOS?In the email I received from them it says:
We hope that you are enjoying the New Year! We are happy that you have chosen to apply to the University of Wisconsin, School of Veterinary Medicine for the Class of 2022.
This message is to provide you with an update on the progress of the admission cycle. Our admissions committee is in the process of selecting the class. We plan to notify you of the committee's decision by late February. All admission decision materials will be sent via postal mail on the same date. We wanted to share the progress of our review with everyone and to inform you that our Open House for invited applicants will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 12:00-4:30 p.m. If you are invited to join the class of 2022 you will receive more information regarding this event in your acceptance materials.

I hope it’s this week... Considering the open house is on the 23rd, I’m assuming they have to let us know soon... I just want it to be over. From what I understand they usually do phone calls for oos students since it takes longer for mail to reach them from wisconsin, although they eventually receive a physical letter and just do admission letters for is students.
Anyone think that they might do it this week? Ahh I'm so nervous :/
Right if it is this week it would be about a 2 week notice so that seems like a fair amount of timeI hope it’s this week... Considering the open house is on the 23rd, I’m assuming they have to let us know soon... I just want it to be over.
If it is by snail mail that isn't necessarily enough time because it could take who knows how long to get to some people.Right if it is this week it would be about a 2 week notice so that seems like a fair amount of time

Same. Let’s just hope we hear from them (positively) tomorrow! For sure. I’m in Virginia and granted if I get an invite, I *could* go to the open house, but the plane ticket would be $$$ last minute.
If anyone OOS does receive a phone call this week please share!
Nothing in the mail yet today... like others I'm hoping letters will come this week. The 23rd is creeping up!
Me!!!!I'm going crazy waiting. Did anyone else only apply to Wisconsin?

I am OOS and an email, though I haven't checked my mail. Maybe my phone didn't pick up the call or something, I am not sure. But the email very clearly said accepted so I'm not too concerned. You got an email or a letter in the mail? Are you IS or OOS? Congrats!
I too went the in-state-school-only route the first year. Just wasn't in a position to move out of state at the time. No shame there! Best of luck to you!Yes I am in state! I am not super optimistic this year (first year applying) but trying to hang in there. Best of luck to you too!
I wonder why only a few people get called? Maybe they just call whoever's farthest away since the letters take longer.
Best of luck to everyone!! Hope to see you all there!

Where are you located??I just got my letter (OOS). Alternate spot. They said in recent years between 25-150 non-resident alternates were selected for admission.
