Can someone who is currently subscribing to UW, put a breakdown of the number of questions on each subject in USMLE WORLD. I subscribed to it two years ago when I was about to take the test and I jotted down explanations. But I'd like to see if there have been many questions added, I have the number questions I did on each subj, dont want to pay for it if I can avoid it.

There are now 2036 questions total. When I go through and do them, it looks like most of them were last updated in 2007.

How do you like UW compared to Kaplan Qbank?

I heard the UW interface is like the actual step 1?

You want UW. Its much better than Kaplan. The questions are well written and the explanations are great. Some people say UW is a close second to FA in terms of board prep.

Kaplan tests more facts and UW tests more difficult concepts.

Kaplan has seemed to really made some changes in last few months. I think they also mimic the FRED system used by the boards. Uworld is picky, good number of the questions require more than just some fundamental understanding; you need to know molecular/enzymatic reaction details to even have a shot at some. Kaplan is not a walk in the park by any means either. Their question length is prolly more like the real thing and most of there questions are text book diseases but they do on hell of a job masking it, so you gotta play detective to get the question. Kaplan also has some 2400 ?'s i think.

Seriously, the books mean nothing if your basic sciences were not understood (even if they were memorized).

To answer your question, the one book that would help organize your basic science knowledge is FA.

UW seemed much closer to the actual exam than Kaplan's QBank. The key is for you to know that it is study material, not a series of tests that give you an estimate of your board score. The explanations of each of the questions, including the info on the wrong choices, is really good. Besides, if you learn to manage questions like those in UW, the actual exam is going to seem really easy.
I strongly recommend rapid review for micro/immuno and goljan's rapid review pathology. For phys i used BRS. For pharm I only used flashcards.

Which flashcards did you use?

I recently read through Lippincott's Pharm and made charts but I heard Lippincott's is too much info for Step 1.
