I'm getting mixed reviews about University of Washington (Seattle). Anyone have insight? Thx.

UW always gets mixed reviews. While my personal knowledge of the program is a bit dated at this point, the following summary seems to recur here consistently through the years:

Resident experience there varies by the month depending on which hospital you are rotating through. Lots of patient work, OK research opportunities, a bit weak on the pure teaching side. In general, residents and attendings seem a bit "stretched" much of the time. IMHO, it's an OK program in a great city, but you probably won't be all starry-eyed about your experience.

Yep. I was considering there versus some Texas programs (Southwestern (dallas and austin), and some california programs (davis), etc.

I wanted to see what others thought of UWash...

Compared to the UT Southwestern Austin program, how busy is UW? From my interview of both of these places, it seems to me that at Austin they work harder than at UW...anybody else view it differently or the same?
