I am currently at a carribean medical school, and am planning for step 1. I bought a year long subscription to uworld, and am concerned with how I am doing based on doing some path uworld questions.
I am done with Path I (which covered inflammation, circulatory pathology, vascular pathology, heart, environmental, pediatric, RBC, WBC), neuro, microbio/immuno, physiology, biochem, anatomy, and histology.
I will be doing Path II (the rest of path) and pharm next semester. I will be done in August.
I have throughout my time so far in medical school Kaplan Lecture Notes, and Kaplan MedEssentials, and Kaplan Medessentials is my primary book because of my familiarity with it.
Then between August and December, through the school I will be doing an intro to clinical skills and USMLE review.
My goal is to have a solid understanding of everything by August, as well as having annotated all of uworld by August so I can spend between August and December reviewing Kaplan Medessentials and my uworld annotations, and then going through Uworld at least 2 times as well as picking up another qbank such as Kaplan and doing First Aid Q and A book.
My question is that if I know ALL of Uworld, and Kaplan Medessentials can I be quite sure that I will pass USMLE Step 1?
Also I am concerned with my uworld performance so far. I have finished cardio pathology, and know everything in Pathoma Cardio Lecture Notes, yet when I do Uworld cardio path questions, I am not doing well at all. After I am shown the answer, I completely understand it and all the other answer choices (as well as learning some new tidbits), and annotating it for future reference. However, what is concerning to me is that I am not getting the answer right the first time. So should I be concerned that I cannot answer the questions right the first time, even though I know that I learned and understood everything till now in Pathoma? And again, if I review all my annotations and know Kaplan Medessentials cold, can I be nearly sure that I will pass Step 1 at a minimum?
