hey all,

my last 3-4 blocks of uworld have gone down from the mid 70s to the mid 60s...and this is starting to worry me. my test is in 1.5 weeks and in spite of more studying, my scores are going down. anyone have this problem? also, i know this has been discussed before but i havent found any good correlations or responses, but now that some of you have taken your test and gotten scores back, about what % on uworld corresponds to 220, 230, 240, 250?? the step 1 predictor doesnt have any info on uworld so im hoping to get some responses here!

thanks

I got an 82 last week and was scoring in the low 70's consistently...now I am T minus 4 days till the show, and my last few rounds were 66, 66, 64, 62.

I know more now than when I took those previous tests, though my scores don't show for it. Your scores will fluctuate. Don't let it rattle your confidence. Just get back on the horse.

... to answer your question, I've spoken to 2 people who have scored ~ 230 and who were getting 60's/70's before their exam.

Best of luck.

yeah that happened to me too. from high 60/ low 70 to 50s!!!! I was FREEKING out. I think I was just burnt out. I took some time to gather my self and I am back in the 70s again, well, at least out of the 50s!! don't know how that is going to correlate to my test tho... taking it TUESDAY.
as for score correlations, I personally do a couple of points better (like avg maybe 3) on Kaplan than I do on UW. I use my UW score in the estimator and figure its more likely to be in the top end of the range. but that is pure speculation.
good luck, take a few deep breaths and jump back in.

I totally hear ya on that one! I was hitting 70's-low 80's. Took a block yesterday and hit a 62!! The fact we're getting close to the big day...part nerves and for myself for a few questions was doubting myself. I also find that I rush through questions I think are straight forward and their ends up being a twist. Just gotta keep going now and pray I don't make those mistakes again!! Finish strong the end is near!!

If you find your scores going down, I'd take an evening off. Have a beer, watch a movie, spend some time with a friend. You'll feel better the next day!!

:luck:

how are you people getting 80s on uworld. the questions are so random. some of the drugs and diseases aren't even in first aid. I mean, Jervell-Lange-Nielsen Syndrome, wtf? Did you just read a ton of more detailed review books before starting it? I don't even know how to make my score budge. I guess if I actually knew FA inside-out it would help 😡

My UWorld scores jumped when I sat down with Rapid Review Pathology for a few days. I highly recommend the book! As a bonus, it also has some great questions at the end and online.

Ok, this may sound obvious, but YOU HAVE TO REVIEW THE ANSWERS...

Those scores on QBANKS are not consistent for various reasons, from simply having an unbalanced questions come up (for example, more pharm or more biochem) in a set of questions... or just playing with yourself while trying to answer the questions.. hahaha dirty joke...

The key to improving your score in the long run is reading and understanding the explanations for each question..... If you are using USMLE WORLD, you have to at least read the Learning Objective.... That way you understand the concepts and theories behind the question, not just the fact that was tested....
