Why are the average percent correct so high on the step 2 bank compared to the step 1 bank. They'll be some pretty hard questions with like 75% correct whereas the step 1 bank those similarly difficult questions would be 50% correct. I'm doing the qbank as prep for shelf exams. Any theories?

I think it's because a lot of people do the questions twice (once for shelf and once for step 2)

The questions are, on average, easier on Step 2. Most people also do two passes on UW, and the jump between those passes tends to be greater than Step 2 than Step 1 (I jumped from 67% to 82%, for instance).

That would make sense, I'm also gonna redo this bank whereas most people never redo the step1 bank.

In general, I think the step 1 questions require a much deeper understanding of the disease processes than step 2, which requires a very simple understanding of the pathophysiology. There are a few more treatment and management questions on step 2, but overall it seems like step 1 is a much more formidable exam.

Be careful man, I know quite a few people who got boned on step 2
