UWSA score predictability

Since everyone got their test scores back, i figured its time to debunk the myth once and for all.. so the UWSA scores do not seem to over predict, as it may have last year, according to the scores I have been reading. I looked at some of the questions and they have all been for the most part, updated recently which may account for the new predictive value.


This post is a bit self centered as well cause i burned through all the NBMEs about a month ago, only to see a huge boost in my UWSA score recently.

If everyone can place their UWSA score and what they got on the real deal, I think it would give alot of people in my situation some confidence going into the test.

UW #1 = 251 after two weeks of studying
UW #2 = 249 after five weeks of studying
Step 1 = 257 after six weeks of studyding

Hope this helps. I thought the real thing was very similar to the UW exams.

I feel like the actual exam has a wider range of question difficulty than World. On my actual exam there were more short gimme questions and more WTF I'm not even sure what they are asking questions than the World tests. That being said, the World diagnostic was closer to my actual score than the NBME was.

NBME 6: 216 (about 4 weeks out)
NBME 5: 236 (4 days out)
UW #1: 244 (3 days out)

Actual score: 248

There is an exact thread for NBME 6 and how it predicts... So.. UWSA and NBME both predict! However, UWSA tends to overpredict...

i would do NBME6, but i did it way too early unfortunately not realizing that it was a great predictor.

If I get what NBME 6 said I will be very very happy...If I get what UWSA 1 and 2 said I will be ecstatic and get some lithium just to cure the unavoidably manic episode that will follow...

although UW predicted my score closest..i liked the NBME's and felt they were most similiar...esp since i saw some repeated questions and similar charts and tables.

the UWSA was trash imo. the nbme assessment predicted my exact score
