VA relocation incentive

Hi all,

The job that I'm considering within the VA is putting together a relocation incentive package for me. Does anyone have experience with VHA relocation incentives? If so, I would appreciate you input!

I have a few

1) Procs/cons of the incentive process
2) Do they provide you with a detailed guide on how it all works before you sign the final contract

Not sure about pros/cons per se, as it's usually just yes or no, are they even offering it. Just remember that a relo incentive is different than relo reimbursement.

Mine was a relo incentive, which in essence, is kind of like a signing bonus. You can do whatever the hell you want with it. This is different than a relo reimbursement package, wherein you are reimbursed for moving expenses, which either requires the employer to manage move related things, or you to keep and submit all receipts.

Good luck, this is pretty much all HR, and they usually have set rates. But, no harm in asking for more.
