Can anyone tell me how a VA hospital differ from a County hospital? Why would you choose to do a rotation at one over the other?

Thanks

Just to name a few differences...

POPULATION - VA patients tend to be largely older men; you will have few female or patients younger than 40

RANGE OF SERVICES - not all VAs have all services available; ie, patients needing Neurosurgery or other complex surgeries may be shipped to another VA offering that service

DIAGNOSES - County hospitals usually have a wider variety - the VA is often COPD, CAD, pancreatitis, and the like
