What does it mean to be put on probation in your residency, esp within the first 2 months (please don't ask why).

And are there any lists of availabe/vacant residency positions.

I need answers ASAP please.

Thanks🙁

Probation generally means you are not performing satisfactorily or have done something the program deems unprofessional, and you are expected to remedy this situation going forward. It's basically saying you are down to your last strike, so fix things. I'm not sure the first two months changes the definition, but generally programs are more forgiving early on, so if you are already on probation this early, you screwed up bad. Figure out what you are doing/did wrong and fix things quick. I'm not sure looking for another spot while on probation will be fruitful.

Agree with above.

Being put on probation so early usually means that you do not have the skills expected for a beginning intern. Or, you could have had a major professionalism violation, as L2D notes. Regardless, you are in serious trouble and could be terminated in the near future. Looking for a new program now is a waste of your time -- you need to focus all of your time and erergy on fixing the problem: listen to others about what is wrong, strive to fix it, make steady progress.

"Please don't ask why" is a bad start. If you're unwilling to discuss / admit your problems on an anonymous forum, it's unclear that you have accepted them and started to deal with them (although I do understand that sometimes these forums are not really as anonymous as we would think)

You messed up. bad. And probably aren't showing that you're going to learn from your mistakes or even own up to them, regardless of what you're saying to tPtB.
