No work, no school, no schedule to follow, champagne, and lots of yummy snacks... it sounds like a vacation... but it's not... it's a hurricane.

The power will probably go out later on this evening.

I'll check back with everyone in a few days...

* I evacuated, kitties and all, to an area in Louisiana north of NO, in case anyone is wondering...

So are they just not going to rebuild the city this time? Or at least invest in some sort of superior drainage system? Those danged crazy French and their below sea level cities...

I've been thinking of you and glad to hear you are out of there.....

Be safe!

I'm on vacation now! 10 rounds of golf in 8 days! And 9 guys!

Sounds like I will be doing the same next weekend with Hanna's arrival...

Well, good luck to you, and stay safe.
Thanks! Everything is okay for now. The electricity was out for 8 hours or so, but since we're staying near a commercial district, the power came back relatively quickly.

I think they will try to rebuild the city as long as the port of New Orleans is operating. Its access to the Mississippi River makes it vital to the shipping industry and the distribution of oil products.

If you want, we can damn up the river, change its course, and make a new outlet for the Mississippi through WV??? 😉
Did you hear about the barge that cracked the canal wall after Gustav? That's sooooo scary! I need to move to an upstairs apartment...

Thank you for thinking of me. 🙂 This whole experience has been a test of patience and endurance... I'll be very happy to return home whenever I can. I've missed all of you... 🙂
2 rounds down 8 to go!!
I hope you're having fun! 🙂

I hope that she stays weak... Evacuation is no fun. 🙁 Best of luck to you!
