Value of Degrees Help Please!

So I have been accepted into both UCLA and UC Berkeley with a science major. I want to pursue a medical career after bachelors. UC Berkeley offers only B.A. degree in science majors and UCLA offers B.S. degrees in the sciences.
Which degree will hold more value education wise? Which of these will help me more in medical school?
which is the better option to choose?
I need to decide in a few days so any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

BS vs BA is a pretty meaningless difference. UC Berkeley has a better academic reputation. I'd say Berkeley is the better choice, although the main determinant is going to be your own intelligence and work ethic.

You can't go wrong with either. Go wherever you think you'll be happiest. If you're from NorCal and want a change of scenery, or if you're from SoCal and want to stay put, go to UCLA. You won't regret it. Oh, and vice versa...

Agree with the above posters, what matters most is which school and location you prefer. Congrats on getting accepted to two awesome colleges!

Go where you are happy, choose the degree you want and are most interested in, work hard, play hard, enjoy life and college, and get into medical school. Good luck OP.

The B.S versus B.A thing isn't a reason to pick one school over the other, especially if a school only offers one option. And both of those schools are really great options. The letter after B is literally just a letter after B.

My school offers both BA and BS degrees in sciences. The difference is that for the BS you need a few more technical/math classes than for the BA. It's really more about what you want to spend your time learning.

In the sciences, more often than not, you need an advanced degree beyond the Bachelors to do the cool stuff anyway. That's what the MS or PhD or MD etc is for.

Also can you tell me anything about like the safety around UC Berkeley and UCLA?
I want a challenge for sure but I don't want my GPA to suffer so much that medical school cannot become a reality and based on all I've read the professors have really weird grading ... Can you please explain how the grading works? or what some of the ones are if it varies? thanks again! 😀

Berkeley and Westwood are both very safe. Berkeley's on a semester system, UCLA quarter system. Grading difficulty will vary depending on your professor, but expect large class sizes (300+) for many prereq classes at both UC Berkeley and UCLA.
