For those that have taken Step 1, any opinions about how good the UCV series is? I've heard mostly mixed reviews and haven't heard anyone give it an unconditional thumbs up. And the funny thing is, among the 3rd years at my school that scored 250+ (the ones I have spoken to, anyways) not a single one said, "Yeah, it's great, you gotta get it."

Consensus opinion seemed to be that they were alright but lower yield compared to Q Bank, First Aid, BRS Path, BRS Phys, and a few other common board review books.

If you have seen the UCV and are questioning the utility of it, I wouldn't reccomend purchasing it. You will probably be like me and just stick it in some corner and never touch it. It definitely takes a lot of motivation just to read cases without any questions attached to them. The only classmates who I can recall who found them useful was a group who read the cases out loud to each other as a study break. I don't think that they got through them all though. If you must have a clinical book, I'd reccomend step up to the bedside. It's much more doable then reading through all of UCV before your exam. I wan't too thrilled with step up to the bedside either though, I just don't like reading cases without being quizzed on them at the end of each case. I don't absorb information that way.

I used them to supplement first aid for anatomy and pharm. I used them when I felt sick of studying, but too guilty to stop completely.

UTTERLEY HOPELESS SET..EXCEPT FOR THE ATLAS THAT COMES WITH IT
