While I was snooping around looking for information on the Vandy website, I came across this awsome book (in PDF format and split into sections) designed to help future medical students at Vandy.

For those of you interviewed at Vanderbilt, do they hand this out during your orientation?

If not, do they send you a copy once you have been accepted?

Its a really good resource and I wish all schools had something similar available.

It is olny valuable for upcomming Vanderbilt medical students. It outlines everything you could possible want to know about Vanderbilt and the sourounding area. It has lists or nightclubs, eateries, ourtoor rec stuff,housing, studying, medical school stuff and lot's more.

I would recommend it to anyone looking to attend Vanderbilt. Every year, second year medical students add to it, and over 30 years, it has gotten to be an excellent information source.

Even if you aren't interested in Vanderbilt, i would suggest checking it out. It is really put together well.

The Paddle is awesome. I was reading it while in the waiting room @ Vandy interview day. For each year's class it must be an indispensable resource. It even had where the nearest Indian grocery stores are! Serious local knowledge.

The Paddle is sent out to all accepted students sometime during the summer (June or July).

Pitt does, and they give it to you at your interview day (not quite as nice or encyclopedic but still good!).
