For those of you who have heard back from Vanderbilt,

My application recently went before the committee, and the secretary said i should hear back in the coming days about my "status." So what does "status" mean?

When you heard back from vandy, did you hear back soon after the committee date? And what were the responses? I'm wondering whether the status update letter is a generic "we reviewed your application and will make a decision shortly" rather than a "accept/waitlist/rejection" letter.

Any info will be much appreciated!

My student went before committee and received her acceptance the following week. I don't know if the case holds true for everybody.

It should mean a decision has already been made.

If you're accepted, there's a chance that the dean will call you on the phone, but I don't think he has the time to call up everyone. Wait for the letter in the mail!
