Are there any SDNers who are current or past VBMA committee members? I am on the committee at my school for next year (at an Australian school) and would be interested in exchanging ideas and seeing what you guys get up to on the other side of the pond.
 
Hi! All of our VBMA committee members are older, i think 3rd-4th year students. I doubt they are on SDN. Not sure if other schools have members who are younger. Seems like you can find committee members on the site though

This is actually interesting, you can see how many members each school has. Looks like some schools don't promote it as much as others. Our whole class is basically involved
 
Tuttley, I am the current VBMA President at University of Illinois CVM.

We are a very active chapter - 271 members out of 478 students. The website as mentioned before is pretty good.

Here are the activities we scheduled for this semester - all of which were almost "locked in" before the semester began so we could really promote what the chapter has to offer for its members.

Fall 2010 – UIUC CVM VBMA Schedule:

September 15th: Veterinary Student Debt Management

October: Pet Insurance , Your Clients and You

November 12th: Financing Your Future
Jim Mahan, Live Oak Bank

October or November: Etiquette Dinner

November: How to Choose the Right Clinic
Dr. Gary Brummett, A&E Animal Hospital

Thanks guys, it is always interesting to see what others are upto. Looking forward to throwing around some ideas with the committee over our summer break ready for next year.
