VCOM-CC or WVSOM?

Hi

If anyone has been accepted to WVSOM and VCOM, what is your rationale for picking one. Anything stand out at one of these schools that makes it better? (I took the question from a thread in 2005)

But being the VCOM-CC a new school, I wanted a fresh look at the comparison.
I have VCOM-CC, WVSOM and LMU-DECOM.

VCOM-CC is closer to home and WVSOM and LMU-DCOM almost same distance.

The only reason I want to pick VCOM-CC is that it is closer to home and I do not liek cold weather but are these reasons are sufficient resaons to decide amoung the 2. Though I liked WVSOM very much. People were equally friendly at both the places.

As we know that deposit is due in next 2 weeks.

You will be paying out of state tuition at WVcom, right? If that is the case, I would eliminate wvcom.

yes. I am OOS for VWSOM.

VCOM-CC is brand new campus.
Ia lso want to know other then VCOM-CC New and WVSOM-Higher Fee, is there any other creteria to pick up one on another.
also VCOM-CC is 4 hours and WVSOM is 7 hours from my home.

VCOM-CC will be affiliated with VCOM-Va. so will have alot of backing and kinks already worked out...not quite like a brand new school...much cheaper, closer to home, only one month of cold weather-January with little snow, and great new technology/simulation labs/video and audio lectures. VCOM-Va. has pretty good match lists also so would expect the same at VCOM-CC?? Don't know much about WVSOM.

I am planning to send the deposit this weekend.
Most likely I will be going to VCOM-CC due to closer to home and I do not like very cold weather.
Last minute thoughts please.

Uh yea the tuition is high...but you can see that money going into the campus, technology, professors, and the students

I can understand the panic and search for a dollar store medical school, but it is a big mistake to entirely rule out a school due to high tuition. You should always have have more than one reason. Unless your lucky and have a way to pay for med school, you ll have to get loans...loans suck either way. Monitor your money and you ll be fine.

Even though VCOM-CC is brand new, it already has full accreditation because it is a branch of the VCOM-Blacksburg school. No provisional stuff. I don't think they are sparing any expenses in getting that school on track. I'm not sure about the other schools, but I think VCOM-CC will be great.
