😕 Hi guys, so I have some questions about VCOM. I understand it's a very new school, but do you do well on your boards. Also does anyone know if as a DO/PhD in VCOM, can you have your lab and PI in VA-Tech,
and also do you get a good residency coming from that school.
Thank you

as far as i understand, vcom hasn't had students take the boards yet, so it's unknown. the same is true for residency since they haven't had a graduating class. you probably can do well on the boards and get a good residency, but you don't have any tangible evidence that it's been done before. personally, if i were gunning for a super competitive residency, i would go to a school that has already placed people in similar super-competitive residencies.

The first class HAS took their boards and are waiting on the results. Good residencies are readily available if you do well.Remember vcom has opened a lot of new roatations and residencies, and is the only osteo to be associated hca.

I was told yesterday by a MI that the third years just received their board scores, part I.......99% pass rate 👍

Hey all-

I've gotten acceptances to five DO schools and have narrowed down my choice to either VCOM or DMU. I'm currently a PA resident.

I felt great after visiting both the DMU and VCOM campuses. I really like VCOM but I'm concerned about their reputation because they are so new.

Any advice from current VCOM students or anyone in general would be appreciated.

Hey Congrats first off.
Here is the thing: DMU is a great school and it has been around forever, so it's great.
VCOM it's new, but it seems like it's gono make it to the top, they are like sister school with Virginia Tech which is really amazing.
If I were you, I would try to look into scholarships for both schools.
By the way what's your MCAT and GPA, if you don't mind me asking, since already made it in??
