Interviewed and accepted in December. Agree with others...I was blown away by the program. I like the ideas that they are bringing...continuity between lecture and clinical faculty, opportunity for mission medicine experience, anatomy lab on the TOP floor of the building surrounded by windows (not in a dungeon, as Dean Rawlins said). Also they will have top of the line ventilation for the anatomy lab (yeah!). The clinical experiences are scattered at several hospitals in the area and V Tech is setting up equipment at each clinical site so that no matter where you are, you can participate in tele/video conferences with the profs on campus...no dashing from distant hospital to make the post conference on compus. Excited about faculty...also, they will all be PAID by the school, no volunteers, so that VCOM can better guarantee quality clinical experiences/educators. Clinical experiences begin the first year and lectures are integrated throughout all four years. Dean Rawlins was interim dean at Kirksville...so her background is from a top notch school. Their stated mission is also fabulous...and from what I saw during my interview day, they embody their mission...it isn't just some nice words on paper. All in all, an amazing place!
