So I understand that vcu was pretty stingy with the number of offers made on 10/15, how many do you guys think they will accept with the 12/15?

I can't wait for this date to come and go already, i am sick with agita!

I feel you guys...I've been waiting for this date, although the closer we get the less confident I am about getting in. At this point, I've convinced myself that I will get into VCU but not this week, more like mid-march. With so few acceptances that went out on 10/15, the flood of qualified applicants will undoubtedly knock me to the bottom of the list. VCU is my top choice, and should I get in this week I will withdraw my two waitlist and cancel my upcoming interviews. I really really hope I get in on the 15th, this is it, I've overhyped it wayyy too much, I really need this.

Another thing, I did a search for VCU 12/15 last year, and it turns out that last year they updated the status page on the 17th, even though students were anxiously waiting on the 15th. Hope this doesn't happen to us.

We'll be there. I really hope they don't keep us hanging. Quick question, if they interview more candidates much later than us who receive higher committee scores, will they move up higher on the list than us? Or will the fact that we interviewed early help us?

last year , dec 15th was a monday...considering that the commitee meets every monday, they probably made the offers on the 17th so that they can use the people who were scored from that very monday.

I am waiting for the 15th. I can't believe its only a day away. From what I remember, we were told that the majority of the acceptances go out in Dec. They also told us that the school accepted more than half of those that interviewed (about 350 out of 600 for 180 seats).

So, this year around, the decisions will probably be made tommorow and posted on the 15th (lets hope so).

I guess the one upside of having already been rejected by VCU is that I have a little less anxiety now.

Hi all!

For those waiting on VCU, I just spoke with someone in the admissions office today who said that if they can get their act together today, notification should be uploaded by 11p TONIGHT! If not, definitely by 11p tomorrow...so notification will definitely be by the 15th.

Also, I double checked to see if I would make it this notification round and I did. I interviewed on Nov. 18th so if you interviewed before that date..you'll definitely know. I would imagine that within a week after that (at the most) there's a decent chance you made this notification.

yup i tihnk that's how it works -basically once your file has been voted on by the committee, the score you get is what determines whether yo uget in or not...if ppl who interview later than you get a higher score, they would be accepted first...that is how i understand it

i think if we don't get in this round, there's still 2 more rounds of offers (january and march to go), so we'd still be on hold..if we still don't get in after march, we get waitlisted...as long as you're on "hold" right now, it means you won't be rejected, at worst waitlisted in the spring (i hear for out-of-staters the waitlist isn't too bad, but of course, we all know that the waiting is HELL)

A post interview hold means that you will be considered for an offer on 10/15,12/15,1/30, and 3/15. There are no wait lists as of now. Wait lists are generated after the march 15th offers go out. Basically whoever has not been accepted up to that point is put on that wait list...your rank prior to wait list carries on.

People who interview are either rejected or put on hold....all the holdies who don't make it by march 15th will be put on the waitlist.

Actually interviewing early gives you some advantage. For example if you interviewed in Sept., you will have a chance at all four times that they make offers, where as if you interviewed in feb, you only have one chance..besides the waitlist.

Lubdubb, Wow! You must have really loved the school to stop interviewing when you get your acceptance there. Do you have reasons that you are so eager to attend (strong in specialty area of interest, ties to Richmond, etc.), or all of the above. Please share...I interviewed there as well, and may also hear this week.

When were you interviewed? If it was before the 18th of November, you should know your status by now (or whenever they finish uploading everyone). It's possible that they were able to review you if it was before Thanksgiving but I know that they are REALLY backed up (increase in applications coupled with one or two less people in the admissions office). I wouldn't be suprised if you interviewed in early December that you didn't get in this notification round.

Regardless, I wish you and the rest of the VCU hopefuls luck!!

i am freakin out because my status page has not been updated since i interviewed (back in late oct). my status page still shows my interview invite. i called the vcu admin office yesterday or the day before to inquire if this is normal. after giving him (charles, i think his name is) my amcas id, he informed me that my priority score warranted me an "on hold" status and i that i am definitely in line for tomorrow's decision time. but he was puzzled also as to why my status page hasn't been updated.

i wasn't worried about it until now, since the notices are coming out and i still have not heard anything. i hope there isnt a freakin glitch with my page that is affecting my overall status/chances. that's just my neurosis talking. will someone just pls tell me that their status page hasnt changed either since they interviewed?

btw, congrats to those who rec'd the best news possible!!

I interviewed on Nov 17th...still waiting. I'm still on "hold" status, I've got my email linked to my cell phone, so as soon as I get something it will send me the text message right to my phone. But looks like the acceptances have gone out, so I think I'm going to throw in the towel and start waiting for end-of-jan acceptances. 🙁
