i hope they don't try to call me while I'm in class. I get no reception! I wonder if a special voice mail message would deter them from calling the next name on the list...

they don't do that "if they don't pick up we are going to the next name" thing until march with the waitlist, right? on top of that, AADSAS is acting like a biatch right now. i haven't been able to access my account for the past 2 weeks.
 
Thanks guys. If I get into VCU, I'm going to make sure I get a hold of you guys so we can go out for drinks a few days before class starts.
 
Does anyone know if VCU is still interviewing? My AADSAS status has said application complete for months.

*does that mean they are calling third rounders? i'm hoping to hear too! my status hasn't changed on aadsas from invited for interview 😕

crossing my fingers. i hate waiting but no news is better than not getting in.
 
yeah, me too. I jump everytime my phone rings and have checked aadsas about 20 times today. I doubt they'll let us know either way today, but you never know. Good luck everyone that's waiting!

i don't know...they usually do so by mail and aadsas. I'm tempted to call and ask, but I don't want to bug them. haha

i went ahead and just called -- adcom met today, letters/updates on aadsas will go out friday, but hopefully it will be like the last round and we'll hear early though! just want to KNOW!

With your stats, why haven't you been accepted already? Or is it that you just have not updated you predents page?

I've been asking that same question since Dec 1. It's all there on predents.

i think that's a very good sign. I wish you the best of luck. I emailed him several times and still haven't gotten a response. He only responded one time and that was around Dec 1st.

i have a meeting there tomorrow to talk about my application and how i can improve it as i get ready to reapply so IF i happen to hear anything about the situation I'll let you guys know...wish yall the best..

I did not get an email and I have been waitign since dec 1.... I am guessing I will not get in but I have already deposited other places so I guess thats ok, VCU would have been nice though 🙁
 
can anyone inform me if VCU is still interviewing? I live in Richmond and work in VCU. I have been accepted to dental school, but VCU is my top choice. I have not interviewed at VCU but have interviewed at many others. Any information would be helpful...thanks.😎
 
A friend of mine interviewed at VCU on Feb. 5 but Im also wondering if they are still sending out invites.
 
At my interview Dr. Healy said they are going to wrap things up sometime in late Feb I believe, so they can make the waitlist/D.5 list in March.So I think they may be done sending out invites. I could be wrong, so don't quote me on that. And congrats Lemoncurry! Very sweet....

Ah man, right before I read your post I checked my AADSAS and it still said "Invited for Interview." Then I went on SDN and saw the "VCU 3rd rounders" thread at the top and I thought it was going to be someone posting something like "CHECK YOUR AADSAS, I JUST GOT ACCEPTED!"

I'm nervous for tomorrow, but I've come the conclusion that if they haven't accepted me yet, being that I interviewed in September, then they're probably not going to accept me tomorrow. I think I will most likely be waitlisted or offered a D.5 acceptance. So I'm really not as nervous as the last two rounds because I'm actually not expecting an offer.

...so sad that the application cycle has completely chipped away my optimism. Sorry, I didn't mean to make this post a downer. Woops! If I include a happy face, it won't seem so sad. 😀

wow i totally agree with you. going through the same thing. when i saw the 3rd rounder thread i was like someone got in and it wasn't me. I'm not expecting much either so that way I won't be let down again. well anyway goodluck and there is always next year!🙂

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

The Dean selects a few applicants (I think 10) to enroll in the D.5 program. Basically, you take some classes with the D1 class for a year, and if you get nothing below a B in any class, you're automatically given a spot the following year as a D1.

Haha...I do the same exact thing as well. I check here first. As soon as I see someone says they got accepted I will check aadsas ASAP. I keep telling myself I have a shot, but I've been having this nagging feeling the past few days, that I'm going to be either waitlisted (which isn't a bad thing) or worse yet, D.5'd. Although D.5 isn't a bad thing I suppose, you're only taking a few classes so I don't think you're full time and therefore I don't think you can get all the financial aid the dental students get. So....it's try to work a job while getting B's or better, all while paying for the classes out of pocket. Not the best of circumstances. Maybe I'm wrong on the aid part tho...I don't know. I guess if it came down to it, I would have to sit down with Dr. Healy and see what's out there for the D.5ers. Who knows...maybe I'll get good news tmw, maybe I'll get a rejection letter in a few weeks!! Yikes...I hate waiting around! haha!! Best of luck to all of you!

I def. would too...I guess I just would need to know more about the D.5 to be totally comfy with accepting it. I just know what they have listed on their website, but I'm sure there's more to it that I don't know about. Anything would be better than a flat out rejection tho that's for sure!!

i hope so. the wait is killing me. i have been up all night studying for 2 exams so if i don't get in i might explode.
