Hey has anyone interviewed to both Boston and VCU? I was accepted to VCU, and I loved the school and paid the deposit. I am excited to go there. But, I just got an interview to Boston yesterday and was wondering if anyone that has been to both could help me out. Is it even worth the money to fly to Boston? Any help would be great. I leaning towards not even going to the interview, but part of me needs to know what I will be missing out on if I don't go.

I've been at BU. It is pricey but the school seems to be pulling all the strings to improve themselves. The people are nice but I wasn't wowed by the school. The buildings are old it is practically right smack in the middle of the medical campus and a neighborhood that seems to be getting better. It used to be a total ghetto the area around it. If you can go to a less expensive place then go there.

It seems like BU has invited a lot of people, just not me. I dont know I am getting no love from temple, BU, tufts?? What should I do????

They said that they were expecting to interview about 1000 people this year. So just getting an interview at BU may not be a shoe in.

Let me preface my remarks by saying that I didn't apply to BU. Just looking from a financial standpoint VCU would cost you in tuition $65,000 less just in tuition. On top of that, it will cost you a lot more to live in Boston for a lot smaller apartment. With the cost of living difference it could cost you $80000-$100000 less to go to VCU. I'd save your money and bask in the glory of being accepted and not having to attend anymore interviews. Besides... VCU is friggin awesome!

Wow, 100 people? Nevermind, I don't think there is any chance I will be going to the interview. I guess I just wanted to justify a trip to Boston. I wouldn't have chosen it over VCU even I would have been accepted to BU.

I think BU has a lot of kinks to work out in the admissions process. 1000 people for interviews seems to indicate either people aren't giving BU a fair shake or the admissions is not very well managed at BU. I have nothing against BU but I felt there were better alternatives. People that I have met over there were happy with BU. I have no doubt in my mind that BU will grow to be a very respected institution if it isn't so already.
