Program-Specific Info / Q's VCU Applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Just out of curiosity, is there anyone that has received a rejection notice yet? I can understand them holding back accepting people based on whether or not those first admitted accept the offer. I just think it's cruel and unusual punishment if they wait to notify everyone they are rejecting after April 1st.

i was wondering the same thing. no rejection notice/any notice here yet. i wouldn't be surprised if i received a rejection, and luckily i've gotten into another program, but it would be nice just to know! i would be in agony if i hadn't gotten into that other program.

I've been accepted into another program as well, but I am still experiencing some agony. I am waiting to hear back from VCU and JMU which would have more flexible breaks and put my in about 1/3 of the debt as the program I am in. Best of luck everyone, regardless of what happens the waiting should be all over in just 20 days.

Have you received anything yet? I am still waiting to hear from VCU as well...starting to lose hope

Have you heard from VCU yet?

You may want to email them. I did and that is how I found out I did not get in. They were very helpful with telling me what I need to improve on.

yes, they were very responsive to my e-mails during the admissions process! i'm not too worried about it, though that's a good idea for those who are!

When did you email them and find out? It just seems cruel to wait this long to reject someone! ugh

I emailed them at the beginning of the month. They told me they have currently made the majority of their offers and will continued to make offers until April as individuals decline spots. I have not received an "official" denial yet since they won't be sending those out until all the spots are completely filled.

Thanks for the help!

I know VCU has a really good rep for how they communicate with applicants and students, but don't you all think it would be a lot nicer if they created a wait list earlier on and let people know if they were on it? I have not heard anything yet, but am overjoyed to be accepted into James Madison's program. I prefer small towns over cities so I think it will be a better fit for me than in Richmond. If VCU does happen to give me an offer I will be giving it to another hopeful!

Congrats on your acceptance! Best of luck

Anybody applying to VCU for OT for the summer of 2015?
I am anxiously awaiting for my OTCAS to be verified and I will be applying to VCU early.

To those who applied last year - did any of you apply early decision? I went to an info session and they said VCU would notify applicants by December 1st and one of my friends who is currently enrolled at VCU found out in the first or second week of November. Her stats were very high though so I imagine she was high on their list to begin with.

To anyone who is currently applying - when I visited, they said they rank you based on your quantitative marks and then begin reviewing the qualitative portions of your application in the order that you are ranked for your quantitative marks.

I am hoping that by applying early, I will have a better chance of getting in.

I am applying to VCU, but I am not overly optimistic about my chances. It is my second choice, but unfortunately my stats are pretty mediocre. It seems like a great program and I really like Richmond.

Good luck to you!

Anyone on here applying to VCU for early decision?

Also, if anyone had applied early decision in the past, when did you hear back?
