hi damas,
I got my first interview call at VCU for DEC 8th. am now waiting for the next step. best of luck to you its very easy, no pressure, just a tour some presentations and 3 x 30 min interviews. 2/3 of the interviewers were very nice, 1 seemed like she was in a hurry.
i have interviewed at and toured many dental schools and the facilities at VCU (esp in the new perkinson building) are excellent much much better than columbia,usc, BU etc. and its a very very competative and new program. so congrats for being called for an interview and best of luck in it.

thank you for the valueble information. do you know how many interview patches they had or having, how many candidates where in your patch?

Yes, I applied there, but haven't heard anything from them. Could you tell your stats, so that I understand where I stand; if I am just waiting in vain or if there is any hope.

Thank you very much for the info, Numairkazmi. When you say 'very, very competetive', could you please let us know what we are looking at- the stats,bench test requirements, experience, etc.

Damas,
as far as i know, your lot will be the 4th batch of 5 people interviewed and most probably the last.

Pandu,
i feel its competative as its the first year they r running the program and because they require you to be a virginia resident for over a year, and to have a voter registration card,paid your taxes etc in virginia for over a year. the grades of course will also be very important but not essential.

I have recieved an interview e-mail for 12 jan too. I haven't had interview in any school with bench exam and I am little nervous...
 
you don't have to worry about a bench exam at least not for now

I have applied to VCU too but haven't heard 4m them yet. I used to stay in Virginia 2 years back nd came back here 5 months ago. When I talked to the adviser, she told me that I am eligible to apply for the program. When I called this Dec she told that they haven't started calling. Guys do u have any idea whats going on? Should I contact them again?

you need one year of established residency in VA. things like driving license, car registration, appartment lease or tax return, can be used.

Hi Damas, I moved here in July nd applied 4 the program. Ofcourse I have Virginia drivers license nd car registration since Aug. Nd I was told that I am eligible 4 applying t the program. I have an 81 in Part 1. Can u tell me if they have finished calling the students? Do u mind telling ur score?

heyy any oneeee!!! pls i need help , i been invited for an initial interview at VCU IDP , bit nervious... pls gime some idea abt it .. and how long it would take for a bench test if i wl get through it !!!

Hey this interview is for 2011 year right? The deadline was 15th july 4 VCU and they sent an email saying they will call for interviews end of august. Are there batches for the interviews??i thought i had to still wait!!!! have they started calling for interviews already?

yup this interview is for 2011...wel i gt an eamil frm there for an initial intervew at 29 july ..aftr this they wil call for an bench test depending on selection on initial interview , but m stil waiting for an formal interview letter... u should keep the finger cross!! any idea about the interview pattern?

Didn't you get accepted already in Univ of Colorado Denver?

interview went gud... dont wory they are realy nice ppl which make u comfrtable first..no preprep required for initial interview, all was about background and cv...gud luck!

I think 5 are already selected and 5 seats are remaining to be filled.

Wondering if any group of people attended the interview or just you were alone? Any idea about total number attended so far? If you don't mind, can you email me your phone, we can discuss about interview and process involved

When is your interview ? How do you know 5 seats have already been selected ? Do you know anybody who has been accepted or are you just guessing ?

Hi sroohi,
I am a virginia resident. I am planning to apply to vcu in 2011. I had seen your post on sdn. Can you please tell me what kind of an interview is it and what do they ask for the bench exam as I don't see any posts related to on sdn.
