I have recently been accepted to both VCU and UMD's dental programs. I am unsure of which school to choose. Here are a couple of factors that are important to me:

1) proximity to home: UMD is about 1 hour from home. VCU is a 2 hour drive. I'm very close with my family and would like to see them often as they serve as a strong support system for me. ( I am a Virginia resident but can apply for instate tuition at Maryland after the first year)
2) I think both are wonderful programs and would train me to be an excellent dentist. I'm unsure if one provides more clinical exposure/ training than the other, is one harder than the other? are students better trained at one of them? are students happier at one school over the other ?
3) quality of life outside of school: I want to live in a fun, safe, vibrant, and friendly city with coffee shops, places to eat, places to go out to on the weekends etc
4) I'd also be interested in specializing
- also, is there anything I mentioned here that someone thinks is an important factor I should pay attention to? Please feel free to include anything and everything! I appreciate your help!
