No One Seems To Have Applied To Any Of These Schools.

I've applied to VCU, and am accepted as well... I'm sure there might be others lurking around on here. Are you thinking of, or have you applied to VCU yet?

I actually applied very early (in August) as an early decision applicant. During that period, I had my interview... and if you asked me how it went... well it went, hehe... I really don't know how good or bad I did. Other than my nerves, it was not a bad experience. You have two separate interviews, one with faculty and another with students/pharmacists. Some questions you might get are, "What is an ethical thing you've done?" or "What is the most creative thing you've done?"... "How do you handle stress?" But, it's not like you're being interrogated the whole time... since they make an effort to make it conversational. Well anyway, I was deferred as a regular applicant and found out the good news last month.

And yes, I will be attending the VCU SoP this Fall 2006.

I had an interview in November but haven't heard back from them. I think they're waiting to see if they get anyone better that applies before their cutoff date (March 1). I have been accepted to Wingate but I would rather attend VCU. I will probably try to contact the admissions people at VCU this coming week and put some pressure on them.
The interviews went really well for me. There were current students there that helped ease the nervers before everything started. Be sure to check out the questions on the interview portion of this site. All of my questions were verbatum to those. The essay question was the same as well.
Good luck!

Where do you find the interview questions? I was invited for an interview with VCU on March 11th. Nervous like hell.

If you go to the main sdn page ,there is a link on the sidebar to Pharmacy Interview Feedback, and then click on browse feedback.

I wouldn't be too nervous, they were really relaxed when i was there, esp in the faculty/student interview. good luck!

Hi UVa,

I just had my interview with VCU this past Saturday. The interview with the faculty/student, I was a nerve wreck b/c it was all question/answer. The one with the alumnus/student, was like a party compared to the other! It was so relaxed and more conversation like. They gave these statistics:

Number of applicants: over 2000
Number interviewed: 240
Number expected to matriculate: 130

If they matriculate 130, that means they have to accept more than 130 to account for the number of people accepted but decide to go somewhere else right? So my chances should be over 60% right?

Congrats on the interview. It would depend on how many seats are left, since the school uses rolling admissions. But, I guess if the ratio of # of interviews left vs. # of open seats stayed relatively the same, then 60% wouldn't be a bad estimate. But, if your stats are high, I wouldn't really worry too much. 🙂

So yeah, anyone else accepted to VCU SoP yet??? Wonderin' to know of any upcoming fellow P1's hehe 😛

Hey Annette,
I actually applied to both. I heard back from VCU pretty quickly for an interview but still haven't heard from LECOM yet.

Do any of you know if VCU is done with their interviews yet?

I applied in November- but am an out of state student. I'm just wondering if you guys know the statistics for the basis of selection from VCU? It's getting really late and I'm about to just give up on VCU.???

Thanks! 🙄

I believe the last batch of interviews are April 8. I have a friend who's interviewing that day, so it's pretty much safe to assume that they're done choosing who they want to interview... I don't think they choose based on state residency (but what do I know), however the majority of those that get in there are probably in state obviously.

I had my interview with VCU in November and I still haven't heard from them. I had my interview before all of my recommendation letters were turned in, and had one of my professors turn the last one in around January or so, so I was expecting a reply by Feb., but so far, nothing. It's the only school that I applied too since I figured I'd get in, so I'm a bit nervous at the moment.
