VCU Round 3

Nothing here either. I think the people accepted in round three have around two weeks or so to submit deposits and reserve their seats. I'm not expecting any updates until after that period is up. Good luck to everyone still waiting. :xf:

yea you're right. I bet Dr. Healy is currently making his alternate list (waitlist + D.5) so if any third round acceptances reject their acceptance, he can offer those people a seat.
 
Anything?

I would think more people would have posted on this thing if they have indeed extended waitlist + d.5 spots.....

The letter is dated March 9th. I don't know if the list is complete. I know that there is a wait list. It says you have until March 30th to accept the offer to be wait listed.

How are you so sure about that? So if he send out letters for wait list, he's also sent out letter for d.5? I'm kinda surprised i wouldn't even get d.5 since I did the post-bacc program....
 
unless you know d.5 invites have gone out, don't come on here and say that they have. i would hope that at least one of the people watching this board would've received one and posted if they did indeed go out.
 
I want to say that last year Dr. Healy did call people about D.5 and since no one on here has heard either way, I'm thinking that's the case and he hasn't made the calls yet. I may be wrong on that, but best of luck to all of you! I have my fingers crossed for you!!

he did, i read the thread from last year. the waitlist letters were sent out earlier in the week and then he made calls at 5-6pm on friday, march 14.

I emailed him myself to quell the rumors. These are his own words

"[FONT=Default Sans Serif,Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif]As with most rumors - this one is also false. The committee has not completed an alternate list nor a D.5 list."

oh yea, and another automatic email was sent that he would be out of the office between 3/11/09-3/19/09

so he must've been responding from his laptop or something, if those dates are correct. i guess they decided on a few people to wait-list before leaving for this break and now they won't be deciding on anything further until thursday? ahhhhh!

though, that would explain why there has been little/no posting activity about the wait-list and d.5 yet, if only a few people have been offered so far.
 
i am currently a d.5 and i didn't hear until this week last year. i hope some of you get good news soon!!
 
I just got off the phone with Quanta. She said alternate and D5 invitations are in the mail now. They were sent off Thursday. She also said aadsas would probably be updated this weekend or earlier. She said even if you don't receive a letter this round, there is a possibility that one may come your way if someone doesn't want to be an alternate.
 
well, if anyone sees their aadsas is updated, or gets a letter, please still post on here just so we'll know its been completed.

I talked to Colin on Friday. He said that their trying to finalize the D1 class within the next couple weeks. My aadsas hasn't changed, so I guess that means that unless someone thats been offered a waitlist/D.5 doesn't accept, I'm probably not going to be offered a seat.
 
Has anyone been offered a D.5 position? Did you receive a letter? Any AADSAS status change?

Nevermind, answered my own question!!! Just got the letter in the mail today! D.5 Acceptance!!!! 😀😀😀 YES!!! AAAH!!

No AADSAS Status update yet. Still says "Invited for Interview."
 
Jaws, congrats on the D.5 spot. Good to hear that people are starting to hear from them. Good luck to those still waiting for that letter.
 
YESSSS!!! I also got my d.5 acceptance letter today!!! Good god I don't even know what to say, I'm glad the process is done. and now i'm going to buy a nintendo wii.

i received my alternate list letter last week and aadsas also changed to "waitlisted"

when do you guys think we will be seeing some movement on the alternate list? in april or may?? i'm so tired of waiting =/
 
To those of you who heard back from VCU, did you call the school prior to that? What time did they call you to notify? Do you think it would help to call?

I never called and they never called me. Just got a letter in the mail. I don't think a phone call would hurt though. You might get an idea of where you stand.

Congrats on everyone who got accepted. What date do you have to accept the D.5 offer? Mid-April?

Hey guys, I'm Scott and I am going to VCU dental school next year and don't know anyone else who is going to the school. I was wondering if anyone was looking to get an apartment together. I'm easy going, love sports, music, movies and to chill and go out ... if we ever have free time in school haha. I'm willing to find a three or four bedroom apt even. I have found some three bedrooms in the fan and other places that people have told me to live in. Let me know if anyone is interested on here or email me

its funny (now), but i actually called monday at 12 and spoke with Quanta and asked her if all the d.5/wait list offers had gone out. she said yes they were all done last week, so i scheduled an appointment with Dr. Healy for june. then 4 hours later i check the mail and got the letter.

and also i just thought i'd throw out, my circumstances were all the same as jaws'. I received no phone call from them, my aadsas still says "invited for interview", I received my letter in the mail this monday, and have until April 13 to decide. also, the letter was dated thursday, but postmarked saturday.
