i cannot for the life of me pick a school - both of far from home (CA), have similar COA, are similarly ranked, have optional lectures, and have in-house exams. Any advice would be much appreciated!

VCU
Pros
  • Location - I feel like I would be a lot happier in Richmond compared to Omaha. I visited Omaha for second look and it was fine but idk I feel like I would get bored. Also close to DC, and my brother is going to college in Boston so have some family nearby(ish). Also seems like there's more to do and easier access to a beach (lowk important to me, being from CA)
  • R1 university
  • Fully P/F pre-clerkship
  • Have a family friend who is an M4 there and could show me the ropes
  • More diverse?
  • I hear that this school is very clinically focused and prepares you well for intern year
  • Large academic medical center + diverse patient population
Cons
  • HP/H/P/F clerkship
  • Class size ~216 students - nervous about how large it is, but maybe also that's a good thing in terms of finding your people??

Crieghton
Pros
  • Support - all the faculty seemed super supportive when i went to second look and it seemed like they give their students a TON of attention. Also, students seem very happy.
  • Weekly Friday quizzes, so weekends are "off"
  • H/P/F clerkship
  • Class size ~120 students - seems super tight knit
Cons
  • Location lol
  • R2 university
  • H/P/F pre-clerkship
  • Jesuit so they don't do abortion stuff, lowk an issue for me because I am very interested in OBGYN
