Hey,

Has anyone who applied to VCU receive that the school has received an AADSAS app?

I haven't heard anything back from this school... so quiet.

I called to check the status and they never pick up.
 
I applied on AADSAS and paid the $80 app fee online to VCU, received an acknowledgement email from VCU within a few days and was advised to send a passport photo+my DAT scores+3 LoRs. Here's what the email said with links for update - You can copy the links below and check online too. I think you should pay the $80 fees right away, somehow I got good responses from the schools that I paid sec/supp fees before they ask for it (money talks?)

oops, just noticed that these links do not work because you must log into your AADSAS application website.
 
I never saw anything about a passport photo. I got the completed application email (that confirmed me paying my fee) well before my app was mailed to them with the first batch on 6/20.
 
I know, the passport photo was requested in their response email acknowledging my fee payment.
 
I also got an email saying they received my $80 but they did not ask me for a passport photo
 
I just looked over my old emails from them and neither of the emails I received from them request a photo.

Just checked my fee payment email and app complete email--didn't get any request for a passport photo. the app fee email DID ask for 3 letters and DAT scores. I'm wondering if maybe people who are international get the request for the passport photo? Seems like the majority of us didn't get it.

To the OP, I was first batch, and received my fee payment email June 5th and my app complete email June 26th. Did you pay your app fee to VCU?? If so, you should have heard back.
 
Very interesting, here's the relevant portion of my email response from VCU. Maybe you did not get an email similar to this? (note that this was after I paid the $80 fee):

"Dear [Sissi]:
This email acknowledges receipt of your application fee of $80.
In order to be considered for interview, a completed application must
include the following items:
1. Passport photo.
2. DAT scores from the ADA (official). You may fax us your
signed/sealed score sheet that you receive on the day of your test;
however, an official copy is required. Our fax is (804) 828-
5288<tel:%28804%29%20828-5288>. DAT scores are good for three (3) years
from the test date.
3. Three letters of recommendation. These may be sent to our office
directly or through AADSAS. If you are mailing them directly, please
send them and all correspondence to:
Office of Admissions
VCU School of Dentistry

Richmond, VA 23298
Your application will be reviewed for the above items and your status
updated to Applicant Complete and Under Review." etc...

Must you submit the three letters even if you are getting a committee letter?

wow, this is a mystery. When did you receive your email? Mine was received on Jun 20. Maybe they changed their mind in July?
 
I got that email before you, on June 5th. But i got an app complete email June 26th which said I was good to go.... The app complete email also didn't mention the photo. Idk..

@Daneosaurus, you need a dentist LOR.

My email mirrored dacookiemonsta's. No photo requested. Not quite sure what to think of that.

I just noticed that there is a "school-specific" thread on VCU so perhaps we could merge this thread into that one. (but I don't know how to).

Mine requested a passport photo. I'm international (Canadian). 2nd batch.

I heard back from them that they received my $80, but never received saying that they received my AADSAS application.
I just called in today and they said they are not requesting for the photo at this time

I received the same e-mail, except the part about the passport photo. they never asked me to submit the photo
 
I CALLED IN TODAY AND THE LADY SAID THEY ARE NOT REQUESTING THE PASSPORT PHOTO AT THIS TIME.
BUT I DID RECEIVE AN E-MAIL TO CONFIRM MY $80
