Has anyone heard from VCU lately, or does anyone have any info about the way VCU distributes interview invitations (send weekly/biweekly/monthly mass invites, or send a few invites out daily)?
I haven't heard anything and my last update was on AADSAS portal saying application complete on 7-23-2010. LONG wait and haven't heard anything? I emailed them asking how things with my app were going and they sent back an email that said updates are done through AADSAS portal and that was it.

I am in the same boat and the admission guy (only one person there you can ever talk to) is utterly useless. You definitely don't get a good impression of the school by asking them a simple question. Unwilling to look at anything for you or confirm that they received something. Not sure if that reflects on the entire school but their admission guy doesn't seem very professional, or very well organized for that matter.

historically they have been one of the better schools for being helpful in the process and getting back to you. Maybe they have a new fella up there. Anyway, you might try to email the assistant dean (Dr. Healy) if you can't get any action with the folks up front.

The same gentleman answers my calls, and he was extremely unhelpful on every instance.

looking at previous year's data on predents, it seems VCU interviews quite a few post-dec.

I hope we hear back then, fingers crossed

When I visited the school last week they said that they are only interviewing about 270 applicants. I don't know if they have already extended those interviews or not and I don't know if that is "pre-dec" interviews or total for the admissions cycle. Sorry I don't have more info, but maybe that will give you a little help.

I got an interview invitation about 2 weeks ago and they were inviting me for Oct 10 but I changed it to Oct 26... I think they just started though.

Did you get an email telling you "no further action needed" EVEN before you send in the 50 dollar fee? Does that mean they don't want to look at your application yet?

I sent my $50 fee and photograph to them in june and they cashed it shortly there-after. They emailed me in July when they updated my AADSAS portal saying that they had recieved my photo, fee, and that they were going to put it with my file.

That was the last I heard, until I Email Dr. Healy and asked how things were going with my application. He emailed me back saying, "updates are done through the AADSAS portal." That was it nothing more 🙁...

don't give up! VCU starts interviews a little later than some other schools, they interview about 10-12 folks per day a few days a week, and they group their interviewees by test scores. I would send dr. Healy an update every so often letting him know maybe any changes in your sched or perhaps that you are sure you have a solid A in your courses. I probably would not simply ask 'how is it going' and might ask something more particular like 'when is the next adcomm meeting'. He is REALLY good at his job and takes everyone very seriously. He answers a billion emails a day, so if he comes across a little dry don't be surprised...it doesn't reflect how he feels about you. He is actually a really nice fella. Keep your chin up and hope this helps

I hope you are right, he has not responded to any of my emails, i met him in the summer, he's a very straight up person, very to the point, i liked his honesty 🙂.

hey chubbyb, i've been listed as received/application complete since 8/12. i retook the dat on 9/16 and faxed the unofficial report to them that day... no change.

Nope. I just scheduled one for the beginning of Nov. just a couple days ago.

I have been received/application complete since 8/5, and I haven't heard anything since, I think I am giving up on VCU. I am pretty sure they have passed up on my application for some reason.

i was in the same boat, didnt hear from them until they offered me an invite in january so dont give up hope!
