If I got a secondary from VCU, what are the chances that I might get an interview. How much screening does VCU do from the secondary to interview stage? I have very average stats, so I was surprised to even get a secondary.

I think your chances are probably pretty good. From what I understand, VCU screens out half of the roughly 4000 initial applications. With 2000 secondaries out, probably 600-700 are VA applicants (just about all of them). That means that you will be competing for 84 out-of-state seats with about 1300 out-of-state applicants. Those are much better odds than you will find at most schools.
