Who uses them and since they are not permanent, what do patients do after these veneers breakdown?

Kinda off subject.

But what if you want to get a few veneers as a dental student. I have been wanting to do it the past few years, but just never did. Could I save money by getting them in dental school. Or should I go the poor dental student route and try to get my dentist to give me a "professional discount" 😀

to Machination:

Well, they are sort of permanent-- Bonded on, not intended to be removed at all. If they chip or fail, the patient would have to get them re-done..

They have their uses though... For example, some diastemas can be closed by using veneers, for people who have that "gat-toothed" look but don't like it.

to Critterbug:

Yep, some schools give their students a large discount, some do it for free. While I don't need veneers, I'm still milking my dental school for everything else I need though, like having my 3rd molars taken out, sealants, fillings, and 6-month recalls. 😀

Thanks Tom. I'll hold off then!!

I was thinking about getting them done as kind of a gift to myself before entering dental school (hopefully). BUt I'll hold off and see if I can save some money.
