Frankly, I don't think there's any way to really recognize the person who's smartest in the class. Nor do I really care. I'm graduating. I'm going to a great college. Do I really care what's going to happen to the rest of my graduating class? Uh... That would be a no. So I'm not really stressed about class rank.

That's the right way to think about it. Although I screwed off my freshman and sophomore years, but hopefully my turnaround junior and senior years will still let me go to a great college. :scared:

I agree; but I did say hardest & highest gpa. So effort and achievement have to balance out.

if everyone has your passive personality, i dont think we would even have a graduation ceremony. and you're just a tad bit pessimistic 😛
 
No, I know. I really, really don't like my high school, or my hometown. I can't wait to get out of here. Graduation will not be a teary moment for me.

But I am the exception, not the rule. Don't worry!

Graduation ceremonies are boring anyways... and her name's Downer Debby for a reason. Duh. 🙄
 
Oh, they are so boooooring. Dear god. Three years of commencement band, and I'm dreading my own graduation. One great thing about a small class--short ceremony!

Although it does amuse me to hear the val and sal give their terrible speeches. With their ten thousand subclauses, tense-changing, PoV switches, supposed-to-be-meaningful phrases... Last year's val opened with, "A few weeks ago, I was watching The Notebook..." And she proceeded to discuss the movie in excruciating detail. I almost cracked a rib suppressing my laughter.

I've never even been to a graduation before... I'll have to this year because my sister's graduating... I'm going to make sure to bring a good book. Maybe I'll be able to get through the entire 7th book of Harry Potter during it... it would be a challenge at least...
 
Ours usually last about three hours. We do it at--get this--a local movie theatre!

It's the most bizarre thing I've ever heard of.
 
That is... only a little strange. Haha.

Gosh, how do you guys streach it out for so long with such a small graduating class? I dread to think of how long my school's will be...
 
Bloody speeches. The val, the sal, the principle, the superintendent... You figure 15-20 for each, that's almost half the time.

Time to get everyone up on the... stage. Speeches. The calling of diplomas. Alma mater. Turning of the tassels. Everyone off the stage.

Also, I can't believe they let you retake B's. In my school you can't only retake a class if you had either a D or F in it.

Yep, everyone in my school that has a 4.0 GPA by the end of their 1st semester senior year is valedictorian (last year we had ~13).

And yes, you can retake ANY class you've taken (regardless of grade). Only the highest grade out of the original grade and retake grade count in GPA.

So you could get 6 F's (or B's even), retake all 6 and get A's, and you'd still be in the running for valedictorian.

Worst system ever.

Hahaha, the valedictorian at a school near mine appearently went psycho with his speech... started going off about how terrible the school was and all of the people and teachers he hated.

hehe, now that would be one graduation I wouldn't mind going to...

Day after day of the same idiocy, of feeling like beating my head against the wall, of rules and restrictions and principles who come into school drunk! I'm leaving this place, thank the Lord, and I'm never coming back. I hope you all rot in your own stupidity!"

Hahaha, best speech ever. Except you should switch the letters and make it BS High.

That would be an excellent senior prank come to think of it...

*snort* Yeah. If only I weren't number nine or whatever...

My friend goes to a school with two levels, and for last year's senior prank, they got a cow and walked it up to the second floor. And if you didn't know, cows will walk up stairs, but they won't walk down stairs...
 
I don't even have a clue where I am... though I'm sure not very high up; I've made a few Bs along the way...

AHAHAHA. That's amazing.
 
I have a few more than that... last year was not a fun year for me. My grades were therefore, particularly suckish.
 
Yeah, I had a rough time of things my freshman year, but I scraped by with A's. By the skin of my teeth.

I heard someone, for their senior prank, burned out a huge portion of the football field so that it read 'F*** YOU'. And it was in the fall, during football season...
 
Tib, we have epic derailing talents.
 
The reminds me, I need to start brainstorming some new pranks this year. I've helped with that past ones lol.
