I just dont get why people who inerviewed later at NYCOM finder out earlier about their interview results than others? I know some one who interviewed a week after i did, and already found out she got in, where as i am still under consideration, and i had an earlier interview (btw our stats are the same) . . . Any one have any idea why they do that, and what exactly does it mean?? I guess i am just getting overly anxious/nervous, its been over 3 weeks already any feedback would be appreciated 🙁

what about us out-of-staters who applied back in june and haven't heard squat because we won't be reviewed until january and then we still might not hear squat until may??! (and yes, I've been proactive)...i'd rather PAY for that secondary and know what's up in under 11 months.
oh well, the bottom line is, they're a big school, they're popular, and they can do it...So yea, it probably points to the way they are organized or overwhelmed-which doesn't make a lot of sense to me at least.

This "big-school" phenomenon is also apparent in the way NSU works, since I'm seeing people who applied before and after me getting interviewed and rejected pre-interview.

I don't get why some schools like to roost on your application...I bet it's cuz they have a waitlist pile as they wait to see what else comes in.

There, I vented.

Just because you interview earlier doesnt mean you will get accepted (or rejected) earlier.

Perhaps your application is an "OK" application, one that they would rather hold until they see a greater number of interviewees.

If I have in my hand the application of someone who is good, but not great, I may wait until I have a better idea of what sort of applicants the year will bring.

Some schools waitlist. Some just hold your application. Some do both.

Yeah I heard last year that they tell the waitlist people until later in the cycle, did u ever try calling the school and asking whether the committee took a look at ur application? Also three wks isn't that bad, most schools take atleast a month to get back to their people. They also started interviewing earlier than normal like two months earlier, so I think they've gotten better in their interviewing process.

If it has been more than three weeks, then I think you can email or call to check. We were told at our interview not to bother them before three weeks was up or we would have our application put at the bottom of the pile. I interviewed on 12/7 and haven't heard either. They said we may not hear before Christmas because it gets difficult to get the committee together before the holidays. I think that because you are in-state and interviewed early, you have a really good chance of getting accepted. Try to relax and have a great holiday. I am sure everything will be fine. GOOD LUCK!:luck: 😀

thanks lilzelda and doctormom . . .you did make me feel a bit better, its just i was waitlisted last cycle for 2006 . . .and i just dont want to go through all that again, i did try calling the admissions office all they said was my application is under review, i know my mcat score is avg for nycom and my gpa is def higher than what their average is . . .i guess just have to sit tight, but thanks for the feedback, i have my fingers crossed for you all too . . .🙂
