Hey Everybody...I've been studying pretty dilligently for saturdays test.

I finally took a practice AAMC test today (the free one...3R).

Score:

BS: 13
PS: 12
VR: 6

It isn't like this is the first time I've done a verbal passage. I've done 10 timed passages in the 101 EK book and gotten one 7, one 10, and the rest 8's and 9's. I don't know what happened...but I know that a 6 regardless of my other stats is enough to send that rejection letter straight at me.

Can anybody give me a few tips that I may not have realized, for example, things that work with EK and not AAMC?

I feel like this is my punishment for being an engineering major...lol

I tried to go with the EK method and it didn't work out for me. While it's true that using the question stems and reading for the main idea works, their assumption that the EK method works best for everyone is wrong. If you can't do very well with the EK passage, try doing a few verbals and try to map the passages as well as keeping the main idea and the question stems in mind. I went from getting consistent 9s and finishing 4-5minutes early, wondering why I didn't use the extra time to getting 11-12s (and one 13) a minute ahead of the deadline.
