I'm taking the MCAT in 3 wks (Aug 14th) and I'm freaking out about the verbal section. Ever since I used the stupid Kaplan mapping strategy, I've seen that my verbal scores have gotten worse. This could be partly due to the fact that I run out of time so I end up having to guess on the last passage. So I've decided to scrap the mapping strategy. But I really have no plan on what to do at this point, so any suggestions or strategies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Try the EK method, and see how it works.

The EK method is:

1. Pause five seconds and then
2. Read the passage once, attentively.

I like it 'cause its simple.

just read and answer questions

any strategy will slow u down because its not natural. just read, try to figure what the usually-biased author is trying to get across, and answer the questions. this will get u the main idea and the authors point of view which are most of the questions. glance back at the passage for detail questions (try to remember relative locations of ideas as ur reading)

and yes kaplan's mapping is absolutely useless
