verification forms...how many dentists sign them?

for the secondaries/verification forms that schools like BU and Tufts have you turn in before interviews to prove your shadowing hours, do you have to get one signed from EACH dentist you list on AADSAS or just the MAIN DENTIST? (i.e. the one you did the most hours with and will get a letter from?)

I know i am going to shadow a different dentist but am trying to figure out if I should find a new one and stick with him or still try to go to my old one that isn't giving me a letter right now. I'm asking cuz it looks like i have to send the dentist letter later and want to know how much and how many of them I will have to bug later to sign these forms too. I really don't want to go back to my old guy but if i have to get forms signed I guess I should try to go win her over some more, BUT if every dentist doesnt' have to sign then i will just find a nicer new one 🙂

I think you've probably submitted by now, but just in case, last cycle I don't recall there being any verification form from BU or Tufts for dentists to sign. I certainly didn't have any dentists sign anything besides my LOR and received interviews at both schools. Not sure if that has changed for this cycle.

Did you really bump this thread every hour for most of a Friday night? Yipes.

I didn't apply to BU or Tufts but generally ... you should see if the school has a minimum number of hours and then get signatures for those hours. If there is no minimum then conventional wisdom is that 40-80 hours is a good range to verify with a signature/LOR. Too many hours and adcoms think you have no life. Too few hours and you run the risk of not knowing enough about dentistry.

lol yea i did i was getting so paranoid before submitting but i finally did it this morning. i put the new dentist on my form and will shadow her for about 1.5-2 weeks right after my DATs so that way i'll still finish the hours before schools get my apps prolly and i'll just try to get a letter from her and get her to send it or use interfolio or something.

I've shadowed a couple dentists for a single day over the past 2 years and they probably don't even remember me. I have one I did 30 hrs with that wrote my LOR and another I did 20 with but are they really going to want verification of every dentist I've shadowed? That's kind of silly.
