Just wanted an opinion on some frames that I just bought. I thought that it looked nice, but didn't think about the perception from attendings on rounds or an interview. It isn't black or brown, so I didn't know if that was going to be a problem.

BTW, here are the frames. It's not the exact one...mine also has blue color on the inside of the frames to give a hint of blue look; not really that visible when you wear it.

I'm not sure but those bad boys may be in breach of the Hippocratic.

I think if you aren't wearing sunglasses around the hospital lookin like cyclops, I'd guess you're fine.

I should have gotten a better picture, but those are the closest ones. It's the same style and same colored frames, except there it is blue on the other side to give a hint of blue. Maybe I should just take a picture when I get it...but this at least answers some questions. Thanks guys.

Dude, you don't need to wear fake glasses to look smart for med school interviews. Just don't dye your hair blonde and you're good!

Otherwise, to look most sharp I vote monocle.

But seriously, I think you're fine I really don't think frames make a huge difference unless they're glitter, extreme cat-eye, florescent pink or something.

I wore glittery frames covered in hearts to all my interviews and I did fine. The consensus in the women's interview thread was that flashier frames are okay as long as you don't have other weird stuff going on in terms of accessories and jewelry. I've come across many doctors who wear unique glasses. 🙂

I already wear glasses. My current one is 5 years old so I got some new frames

They look normal to me.

As long as it's not sunglasses you are wearing you should be fine

My wallet? Versace

My shoelaces? Versace

My toilet paper? Gucci!

Haha nice. You know, Versace frames aren't really much more expensive than other brands. The ones I got were only $229....with the lenses + discount, it came out to be about $350, which is even less than my first pair.

If you're a guy and currently single, can we, like, start dating? #lovebespectacledguys

Jest aside, you should be fine.

Only if you have 3.9+ GPA and 35+ MCAT. Haha, just playing.

Wow, cheap. All my glasses/sunglasses have ended up $500+ although the bulk of that is the lenses.

Being nearly blind is expensive.

Yeah, I never knew how expensive the lenses were until I bought my first pair. I also didn't know what I needed or what not. I bought the most expensive, thinest lenses, scratch resistent and anti-glare coat blah blah blah....all because the technician there was a great sales lady...ended up costing over $400 [orginial price over $550]. This time around, I just got what I needed.

I'm a female and I have tortoise Burberry frame and all the female attending loves them so far.
