I took my first DAT Achiever today and 😱

Gen 18
Orgo 20
P 16
Q 18
Rc 18

I don't know what to say. the test was crazy. I usually get 19-20 on CDP but damn, achiver pat was hard..
so for those who have done real test and achiever, do i still have some hope or i should sit home and cry .🙁

if those are your achiever I score, you should expect all 20s across except for RC and QR. it just my personal opinion though.

Expect a 18-21 on PAT most likely.
Achiever PAT is useless, don't even bother taking it IMO.
CDP is much better.
For the rest, you might do better, you might do worse...Most people go up from Achiever scorers, go read other old posts about Achiever...

CDT angles are hard and great at the same time. harder it is now , better it is on the real DAT .

If you are crying over those score then im gonna go ahead and withdraw my applications and totally give up. I havnt been able to increase any of my score, I finished all three and ended up with these as my highest scores, Bio 17 Gchem 14 Ochem 15 Pat 16 Rc 20 Qr 16...i wont post my low scores because I know someone is gonna say something negative and make me cry 🙁

So trust me, your in good shape, matter of fact, your in great shape, even when it comes to PAT.

No, I havnt taken it yet, Im scheduled to take mine on the 27th but i want to rechedule, im still debating. I'm moving on to Topscore and based on my scores there I will make my decision. But I tell you, your golden, dont freak out. PAT on achiever is doo doo, i hate it. Everytime i took the PAT part of the test it maked me wanna barf and choke myself at the same time with hopes of suffocating to death. Some of those problems are downright impossible.

Dont freak out, your scores are solid. I'm telling you try Topscore, that'll boost your confidence. Whens your test?

I think we are just going about it the wrong way, have you tried Topscore? I got very similar scores on the only kaplan test i took, but that was my first diag ever, so I dont know. When is you test date again?

i just took the real dat today, pat on achiever is def harder, but I think the angle on the real test is harder than achiever, that's why i got two 18's on achiever pat (didn't take third one) and got 18 on the real pat.

That should be an 19, it is one. Good job, you seem in great shape. Remember every person is different; one person might do much better, another might do worse.
You probably will go up several points...some people go down.

well I got like a 16,15,18 on science on the first achiever.. its sucked.. and i think i got a 14 on the PAT... that was about 2 weeks ago... so I am going to take another one this thursday to figure it out.. i am not born smart.. but i hope to improve. I took the topscore today had in sci i had 19,18,18... i need MORAL support..

utdent- yo man, thats serious improvement, just keep chugging away. the 1st achiever pat was so brutal i only got 1 keyhole right which blows. i think the most important thing u can do is after each exam, go over it. question by question even the correct ones and understand the reasoning behind each right and wrong answer. i believe this has tremendously helped me in my studying. good luck dude, i know u can do it!

when are you taking your albuterol?? I am just going over my o chem in topscore.. and its long haul.. I thought i knew my roadmaps from destroyer but i don't see how ppl say destroyer is the best because i DO know my roadmaps.. but alot of problems are just applied and not reactions.

I have a read al ot of posts claiming that Achiever PAT is a waste of 60 mins.
It is too hard. Like you thought.
Achiever Bio is also too hard. Chems are supposed to be closer to the real deal.

I'm taking mine on September 10th, just 2 weeks away. I'm getting nervous but hopefully enough practice problems and knowing why I got them wrong will help me out on test day. Destroyer can only help someone so much, I think its a good resource as long as you have a good background in orgo. If not go through it a few times and make sure you read the explanations in the back, they are really helpful. If you think about it Bio they can throw anything at you, thats why people say its so random. But for chem and orgo, they can only throw so much at you that the more you do practice problems the more you'll be identify certain concepts that have been rearranged to seem more difficult. As for Achiever PAT, I do not plan on doing it anymore and will just supplement my exam with a CDP exam, heard CDP PAT is as close to the real deal as they get. Good luck udent and doc!

thanks albuterol.. i amt aking it a day after you!! freakyness.. its almost here.. i know i am starting to drill in the hours too.. just knowing evyer single question is the only way to know it...though TS orgo threw me off and the G chem i am trying really hard but is very difficult in the destroyer. I hope we don't have such hard calculations.. and also do most places givea dry erase board??during the exam.. coz we gotta start practicing writing with markers.. its slows you down.

i heard most places give dry-erase, i'm still hoping for paper/pencil haha. i took my achiever test yesterday with dry-erase it wasnt that bad but of course i had nice markers and a big fat eraser lol....doubt these will be the exact conditions on test day.

I totally disagree! I thought it elevated my game for the PAT section. When I took the real thing, I ended up with 15 minutes to spare as a result! Scored a 24 on the real thing, and scored 18, 19, 20 on the respective achiever PAT practice tests. Good luck.
