when i took g bio i learned that the appendix is a vestigial structure, but as i got into upper div biology (gross anatomy, histology, etc) i learned that the appendix does have functions with the immune system.

But if there is a question that asks for vestigial structures, would the appendix still be considered a vestigial structure?

Yes, it would still be considered vestigial structure because even though it performs some function, the body really can do fine without it, so they only aid in function, not perform then function.

*Hope this helps!
