"Hi, I am getting dismissed from vet school I have always had med school in the back of my mind. What do you think?"
Now, do you see how...well....silly that sounds, now that the position is reversed?
We are not a "back-up" for med students. Do yourself a favor, and if you want to do human medicine, apply to another med school. I probably sounds like a b***, but honestly, I am just sick of people who leave human med and talk about doing vet med because "Oh, its seems fun and I like animals" and "I've always had it at the back on my mind..." if those are your reasons, you are NOT ready. Forget about even getting in, let alone succeeding and an incredibly rigorous schooling experience.
Veterinary medicine is every bit as grueling as medical school, and unless you TRULY want to do this, and are TRULY dedicated to devoting your LIFE to animal medicine as opposed to human medicine...well.....don't even try. It is a waste of both your time and the time of peole who are trying to educate you in a field you are not wholly devoted to.
Now....If you worded your first post poorly and I ran with it, feel free to bash me back. If not, suck it up and apply to another med school. Vet schools do not want med school culls who apply because vet school has just been "oh, hangin out in the back of their mind..."
If you truly want vet school, you will have to take at least year and a bit off in order to get enough experience to even approach being an interviewable candidate. It will be a huge uphill battle. They will NOT let you in on the basis of having been in med school. In fact, you would have a very difficult, if not totally impossible, time getting in if you are dismissed from med school.
You can understand how it will look to admission committees "Oh, this person was dismissed from med school...and now he/she is applying to vet school? What, does he/she think we are just a back-up plan?"
I see you are also asking around in the med forums about offshore med opportunities....do you want to do vet or human? You sound like you need time off to think.
