Hi!
Im a college graduate who considered going to vet school, but now I'm leaning towards getting a Vet Tech degree and taking business classes to work with animals moreso than becoming a doctor.

Does anyone have any experience with the vet tech programs in Colorado (only the avma accredited ones). Are there certain vet tech schools that are considered "the best"? I've seen a couple articles with a few schools listed, but is it a huge difference as long as they are all on the accredited list?

I'm also curious about transferring my degree through different states. If I was to get my schooling in colorado is it as simple as taking the VTNE for New York to be able to practice in that state at some point?

Any information would be great! Or if anyone knows of vet tech forums as well.

I'm from Colorado, so I can give you an idea on the bigger tech programs in Denver: Bel-Rae and CCD.

To be honest, every doctor/clinic I worked for didn't care where you got your tech license. They cared about you showing up on time, doing well in your job, and not bringing drama in. Both programs are good programs. CCD is cheaper the last time I was told (2 years ago, granted), and I heard it was significantly cheaper (30k for Bel-Rae's full program; I heard 20k for CCD). I would 100% recommend the cheaper option (whether it's CCD or Bel-Rae). Techs in Denver were making about 15/hour, give or take on the clinic and level of experience. It's a lot easier to pay off those loans when they're cheaper.
