Hello all. I am looking to jumpstart a ca-3 elective in veterinary anesthesia at my residency program. Does anyone there know of any programs that offer rotations in veterinary anesthesia. So far i have only heard of UCSF having such a rotation available. If you have participated in such a program, please let me know as I would like to hear more about it and possibly contact your program director about specifics.

thanks,
Dex

Any luck finding information pertaining to vet-based anesthesia electives? Do you know the specifics of UCSF's program? I too would be interested in learning more about this possibility.

You might have more luck asking for info over on VIN. Dr. Rachael Carpenter (a consultant over there) did one that I know of.

Just out of curiosity, why are you interested in veterinary anesthesia? Also, would this be allowed under RRC rules?

If you can spend 6 months killing rats fulfilling the research requirement of a Clinical Scientist track, why not do veterinary anesthesia as a research month?

UW-Madison has a veterinary anesthesia elective for CA-3s. I don't know how many elect to do it though.
