hi crisp,
thanks for the good news!
when did you take the NAVLE?
I know that they review the books twice a year and I wouldn't buy very old ones,
anyway, if you let me know the price and the year of issue I'll think of buying from you.
thanks

I got them in september 2004. I passed my navle in in dec 2004 and now I am doing my one year clinical evaluated year and I will done in one week. I can give it you for $150. It includes the british quiz book too.Any questions , email me at [email protected]. I am from North Brunswick. When Are you taking the navle? If you have any concerns or questions, I can really help you with the preparation for boards.

I graduated from India and I chose one year because I am planning to open my own practice as with this year you get so much hands on experience. Navle is not hard and I think 12 hours study daily for 2 months is ok but main thing is more you revise, better it is. I think that there are no changes after sep 2004 edition.

hi crisp,
I think that the one year experience is great!Where did you do that?
did you know this is the last year you can do it? this is orrible!!
To have my licence I will have to sit the CPE, 5000 $.........!On the ECFVG website they say that the next navle ( in december, when I'm going to take it) is going to be different from the past. This is why I am concerned about the date of the VCRV.
I live in Lawrenceville, pretty close to Princeton, I tought that we could meet and talk about all this stuff!
let me know at "[email protected]"

I REALLY RECOMMEND THAT IF YOU ARE WORK IN CANADA OR US, YOU MUST HAVE THOSE. I HAVE TWO SETS AND I WANT TO SELL ONE. IF ANYONE INTERESTED, EMAIL ME AT [email protected].

Hi Crisp,

I am preparing for PAVE followed by NAVLE next year. I graduated from India last year. Now I am looking for study materials to get through the PAVE/NAVLE. I know stuff like Merck Manual/VCRC/Mosby but if you combine the volume of these whole its huge and i dont know what would be best sequence to start preparing. Could anybody suggest a good strategies/stepts to be followed for PAVE/NAVLE?
And also since course are huge so do we need to go in deep level in each and every subject?

Anybody could help me out here?

Anybody is in the Northwest specialy in Oregon who is preparing for PAVE/NAVLE?

I would really appriciate any kind of help from this forum.

Thanks,
oregonvet05

Hi,
the florida university has a free distance learning course to prepare for the NAVLE. It is composed of 29 lectures on different subjects, virology, bacteriology etc,etc...you can find more info on the avma website, search the avma website for : "Practitioners spur university to develop NAVLE preparatory" ...this is an article on the course and they give you a contact for more info.
You need a password to log-in to the course pages and download the lectures, I think the contact on the avma web site could help you, they helped me.

😕 Important Question: are the Mosby's really helpful to prepare for the NAVLE?
I saw it and I think the questions are too much on the basic side. I mean I don't think on the NAVLE they will ask you about molality and molarity,or the definition of the pKa or pKb .....will they?
Francesca

PS: if someone is wondering why I didn't just give you the pw for the course, is because I think that is not fair using someone else work without direct permission.

hi,
I finished my veterinary medicine degree from Egypt last year, iam going to Canada so soon, and I am willing to apply for the NAVLE followed by the CPE.
till now have no resources I can use to study, I still havent apply yet, but i would like to have an idea about the study materials I need to have.
could any one tell me about the books I should buy to study so i can pass it?
also, if there is anyone in canada who is willing to take this exam or passed it already, could leave me his/her email adress or phone number so we can talk and exchange information.

Ah one more question, about the clinical practice, how can I get trained there before I take this CPE??
Bye

Hi birdvet,
thank you for your suggestion! and congratulation!

Hi, I was preparing the navle based on on-line lectures from flu vet school and the merck vet manual, passed from the first try.

Hi Francesca,

I just sat the NAVLE in April and passed without a problem. I used the VCRC, Mosby and a resource called "A-Z NAVLE board review". I found all of them very helpful. The only thing I can say about VCRC is that it is very detail oriented therefore make sure you allow yourself the full 12 weeks to study. I'm actually going to sell all my study materials since I don't need them anymore. I'm in an internship and making next to nothing so the money will come in handy.

I paid $500 for the VCRC books because they were shipped to me in Australia. I bought the 5 volumes of Mosby for $160 all up. I'm willing to sell all 6 volumes of VCRC, all 5 volumes of Mosby, the A-Z NAVLE review and my own typed notes for about $250 + cost of shipping. l'm lisiting the whole thing on ebay in a few days so if you're interested let me know and I won't list it.

Cheers,
C Hand
