  1. Pre-Veterinary
Hello! I was wondering if anyone has been on a VIDA trip or World Vets trip as a vet student and can vouch for whether it is worth it or not in terms of experience gained? I'm looking to gain more surgical experience through one of these programs as it can be difficult to get experience in the states (I am currently a soon-to-be 3rd year vet student and have not had surgery labs yet). If you were also choosing between the two, what made you choose one over the other?
ALSO, for VIDA I noticed theres a distinction between the "Veterinary Program" and "Advanced Veterinary Program"; I don't think I qualify for the Advanced Veterinary Program because I haven't done surgery lab in vet school yet, so I am looking for feedback from vet students who have done the Veterinary Program. Thank you!

I did VIDA as a pre-vet and I enjoyed it - the people were nice and everything was organized well. It was 8 years ago, though. We had a vet with us that was trying to speed up her surgery time so she could pass her US licensing exams (ECFG whatever or PAVE). She definitely got to do a lot of surgery.

They did not have the advanced program at that time so I can’t comment on that. Best bet would be to ask - they’re nice people.
